Myrdal cheese is made/packaged in different sizes: whole cheeses approx. 5 kilos, two different vacuum packs (350g and 175g) and 500g small cheeses in wax. Please contact us if you are interested in our products.

The farm

Myrdal farm is located 250 meters above sea level on the beautiful island of Tysnes, south of Bergen, in Vestland county. Jasper and Nynke van Schaik took over the farm when they moved here from the Netherlands in 2013. They combine the famous Dutch cheese tradition with exquisite local ingredients. Myrdal Gård has a small cheese factory where various cheeses are produced from purchased goat's and cow's milk. Myrdal cheese is sold in selected grocery stores and specialty stores throughout Norway. In the summer, the farm shop is open, and sells cheese and dairy products from its own cheese factory, pizza with as many home-produced ingredients as possible, baked goods left on the farm, several home-made jams, farm-made soap with goat's milk, other local food products and other finds further afield.

The cheese shop

Myrdal dairy uses first-class raw materials, and refines milk that is delivered fresh to the farm three times a week. Norwegian milk is of the highest quality, and is the basis for fantastic cheese.

In the cheese factory, traditional knowledge from the home country and good recipes are combined to develop intense flavors in cheeses with a delicious texture. Passionate and enthusiastic cheese lovers in the cheese factory ensure that the ingredients are of the highest quality and are processed under the strictest hygienic requirements. The cheeses are matured at the perfect temperature and humidity to bring out their full flavor potential. All Myrdal products are pasteurized.
